    Kayaks for Duck hunting???

Assuming I don’t know anything about kayaks, what do y’all use when duck hunting? Is there something specific I should look for? If it were to be just me and my gear what would I search for?

Something wide and stable. Probably 12 ft. minimum sit on top so you have storage room. I have a wilderness systems ride 135 that would probably be just about perfect for that. But I don't duck hunt so I am just speculating.

        I'm using a Basspro Ascend sit-on-top 12'

The thing about kayaks is you really want to try them out.

Mine is stable, but its slow.

You can carry a bigger cooler in a canoe. Yacks are popular these days but a canoe can get you and quite a bit of gear into a remote location.

Something stable and shallow draft. I have a Diablo Amigo that I will be using for most of my duck hunts this year, they're extremely stable, draft shallow and are still quick. They're so great I actually got 2 other TBHers that I hunt and fish with to get one too. They're absolutely awesome.

I use a wilderness ride 115. Short enough to throw in a truck bed and not stick out far. Super stable. I can jump up in it in waist deep water with no worry about flipping. Im a big guy. With me and all my gear it still has plenty of capacity. Its no racer but is surprisingly fast. I usually I have 2-3 dozen decoys, gun and a shell bag. If you're like some guys who take everything but the kitchen sink you may want a bigger one.
