Dedicate a certain amount of time each day to searching for a new gig. I have been in a similar situation and one person (boss) made me hate coming to work. Just looking or listening at the boss was a chore and p!ssed me off. I found a new gig, took a pay cut, then sent a very factual (not personal) e-mail to top management/HR and copied my attorney documenting my files. I don't regret it and have not looked back. Find new job and ride it in. Good Luck brother.

Don't quit. Ride it out while aggressively looking for a new opportunity. IMO, you look more desirable if you are currently employed.
I already have and there is an opportunity there but I kind of want to switch gears and do something different. I have other opportunities to gain employment immediately with my skill set pretty much any where I want in this industry. Problem is I’m not passionate about it, I’m good at it, but could care less about the industry. I want to do something that I actually have a passion for and enjoy. I agree with waiting and keeping a check while I can but I will be let go within the next two months it seems. Right in time for Xmas. I don’t know if I will be able to find the dream job (if one exists) in that amount of time. All I can do is try I guess.

Take the gig with your previous VP. Than start looking for your passion. It may very well take a long time to find your "passion" gig.

If he's VP, then there are people above him. I would let them know your situation. A good businessman won't tolerate such petty actions from one of his upper management.

News Flash: most people aren't passionate about their jobs. If you're good at your job and it pays well, then take a new job in the same field.

Hang in there idiots like your new boss usually don't last that long anyways. I had a similar situation a few yrs ago. Take him some antelope steaks too.

I'd be careful about leaning too much on whether you're "passionate" about your job.

Dirty secret: 95% of people aren't. You need to pay the bills.

I'd definitely start looking around. They're obviously just laying the foundation to fire you, which sucks, but it seems like you're somewhere with a culture that doesn't fit well if they allow that to happen.

Also, in the future, when requesting time off you ARE NOT required to submit a reason for requesting time off that you have earned.

My employees do this all the time. I tell them that I do not need to know why they want to have a vacation, the time has been earned.

I'd work while looking for a new job. You can always have a little fun and stir the pot by going above this jack wagon and telling his boss how it really is and that they will lose a top producer if he doesn't change his tune. Can't hurt if you are planning to leave anyway.

I can't add to the advice you received above, it's all good. Just wish you luck and hope it all works out for you, it usually does.

Been here Done That... Get your "Ducks in a Row". Have all the documentation you can gather and dispute any ideas that you are Not Carrying your Load. Stand up for yourself and fight for what you feel is right. I too have been in that situation and I fought HARD for what I thought and believed. I still lost, but the people I worked with saw what I did and HOW I did it. Keep your Integrity and You will ALWAYS come out on top.

It is true what has been said, "People do NOT QUIT Jobs, they QUIT Bosses..."

If you’re financially set, and can readily have a job in the same field then I’d start hunting more. Posting pictures every chance I got of my kills, and bringing processed game trays to work. I’d flaunt it. Make him fire you in a blaze of glory, then explain that just gives you more time to hunt. Then spend the next month or two of season hunting while taking up a new gig right after New Years.
