    Not my best season

I know there is still time and the rut hasn't even kicked in, but its been a bleh season so far. Between raining nonstop and only seeing baby bucks its just been a not so great season. And now, duck season is upon us and I have all my deer tags. Just venting, not looking for anything particular here. Anyone else feeling the blues? ALso need to borrow kayak to hunt deer, ok thanks.

I'm feeling the blues from not being able to go! I've been once, and had 3 deer come to corn in 3 days hunting. We hunt in Concho county so we're used to 10-15 deer a hunt on average. As of now I'm with you feeling the blues! Good news is it can only get better from here! I go back November 9th, and will be a regular in the woods after that trip!

It’s just now the time to bear down. We saw two new mature bucks this week.

Are you going to quit deer hunting to hunt ducks, or are you saying the duck hunters are going to ruin your deer hunting? Either way im sure youll have a chance at something if you keep going to the field. Youve got a long way to go yet. Good luck the rest of the season.

lol nah I love duck hunting. Not as much as bowhunting though. I'm just frustrated. You know how it goes. Something has to be sacrificed so you can make it to your stand and spend time in the woods. Then the lack of activity just beats you down. The rut will be here soon enough and I'm sure that will change things.

We are just gettin' started. Heavy acorns, fresh newgreen growth and incredible rain amounts have us with a slow start trip wise and activity wise. But.... as long as the rain holds out some we are going to get after them hard starting in November. Gonna suck hearing all the booms at the neighbors but it is what it is..

I'm itching to get some meat in the freezer. Not getting that doe tag filled before rifle season starts has me down the most I think. It may seem odd, but I've never been super focused on big racked bucks. It would be cool to shoot one but it's never really my main focus. Id rather have no tags left and a freezer packed out. Guess that makes me an odd duck.
