climbing sticks vs ladder

I'm curious which you prefer. the individual steps that are strapped on separately or the full 20' ladder? thinking about switching the individual sets

Always try to find a tree I can use a ladder on, at least to get most of the way up. If I have to screw in a few steps above the ladder to get where I need to I will. Just easier/safer IMO to go with a ladder

I have both. With a somewhat straight tree, the 20’ ladder is a lot easier to get set
up.

Rapid rails are more versatile. But on a good straight tree ain’t nothing wrong with climbing stick.

It depends. If it was a stand I was leaving setup for awhile, I used the ladders because they are cheaper. This makes multiple setups more affordable and less loss if stolen. Mobile setups, I used climbing sticks for sure. I used Lone Wolf for those.

Individual sticks. Way more versatile.

I don't think I will ever buy another set of the ones that all attach together. They can be a real pain and noisy to setup in tight cover. And they will not work on lots of trees. I much prefer the individual ones.
