Saw 4 bucks this morning, in 2 groups of 2 ea

Last Sunday I could hear 2 sparring and I had 2 on one of my cameras earlier in the week sparring

Not going to be long

May rattle a little this evening and see if I can get something to come investigate

I'll be just north of you on Henderson/Anderson county line. This area is very active right now.

From Athens to Terrell I counted 9 bucks dead on the road. All 1.5-3 yr olds. Yesterday from Athens to Jewett I counted 22 dead deer. Some bucks some I have no clue they were so mangled. Lot of the high water forced them to the higher ground/roadway.

Went to leave the house this morning around 4:45am and had an 8 point trailing closely behind a doe in the yard. He didn't seem to notice or care about me.

In Lampassas saw another 8 point doing the same at the edge of town at the turn toward San Saba.

In San Saba had a young 8 point run four doe out of my feeder pen around 7am and they never came back. Watched him push the doe all the way across the field as he continued to harass them.

I agree rut isn't here yet but it's close. Bucks are ready, just need the ladies to cooperate.

That’s good to hear. We have a nice 10 pt on camera but was all night time pics a couple weeks back. We are not far from Gus Engeling WMA
