Any Trane Furnace Techs out there? or know where they sell Trane ignitors?

Ignitor in our home furnace went out this morning (at least I think it is the ignitor as it turns on and the gas kicks in for a few seconds and shuts off when it does not light).

I called about 5 local Trane Heating/AC places and none of them sell the ignitors or parts for that matter. WTH!!

I do not want to pay someone $200 for 10 minutes of work for a $30 part.

Anybody know anyone or know of places that sell Trane Furnace ignitors in the Austin area??

    I am in Pflugerville.

    Thanks!!!

have you tried restarting the furnace, Ii have a trane that does that from time to time and I can basically reboot it and it will start working again.

It's probably a hot surface igniter. You can pull it out and you will know for sure if that's the problem...they normally have a chunk missing when they are bad. Be careful getting it out, they are pretty fragile. If thats the problem you should be able to call the Trane parts supply in Austin to get a replacement. 512-416-8822

Check the "Flame Rollover Switch". I had one go out a few years ago, seems like it cost about $12. I bought it in Sherman, at a local parts place.

          Thanks guys!!

A friend of mine said that Johnson Supply in Austin has tons of parts.

I called and they can match it with a Universal one.

          I will let you know.

          thanks again!!!

Grainger should have the parts you need.
