    Bay This Weekend

So I have a good buddy flying in from Boston (I KNOW, freakin SOX fan.) and I want to pick him up from hobby airport and head to Galveston Bay. I normally don't fish this time of year and am more about hunting.
    So:

Will be headed out of the dike rd launch, circle around towards the jettys, stop by the ship wreck. Any tips this time of year?

    Thanks!

With as much fresh water, i'd stick close to the jetties and possibly even target bull reds specifically. Bring some medium-duty rods/reels and fresh crab, cracked in half and drop it in the edge if the ship channel. Not sure if the flounder are heading out in large numbers yet, but they should be getting close.

Was thinking of sticking close to the Jettys because of all the fresh water. Thanks, good call on the crabs, I will grab some!

Not sure what kind of boat but get up in the marsh with shrimp under a popping cork along the grass if you can, reds are pretty easy to come by in there. Out in the bay look for birds working this time of year, that's always fun. Drift the reefs. Artificials of some sort of chartreuse variety or shrimp.
