I hunt an area with acorns, pulled cards today, most deer I’ve had on camera all year.

i'm in exactly the same boat as you are. I went from 2-3 hundred pics a week to 24 for the week. all of the big bucks seem to be gone and just a couple of dinks left.

October lull...depending on the natural browse available I've gone the entire month of October without even seeing a deer. With all the recent rains and what looks to be a heavy year for acorns the deer will pass by feeders in favor of other sustenance. I'm hoping this cold wet weather will sour the acorns quick and they'll be back to their regular patterns.

The deer didn't disappear....they are still there. But, they have changed their travel/feeding patterns since they have a new food source.

Be patient grasshopper...they will be back.

In Bastrop county the hogs even quit hitting the feeders. The whole place is freshly rooted, but they like natural food better I guess.

Which is crazy to my palate- I can eat the corn while filling feeders and often do . An acorn, even the “sweet” white oaks, is one sour mouth puckering piece of yuk .

Must be Mother Nature doing her thing.

I had 2-3000 pics a week. Down to 100 maybe with maybe 1 mature buck at midnight for a minute. Mostly doe late at night. Nothing in the day time. Hogs aren’t even hitting the corn feeders. This is in a game rich east Texas environment. To much rain and to much natural food. Heck I have 3-4 acres of peas and beans they have slowed down on.
