    Shooting platforms

Anybody use a platform for rifle hunting? Not talking about a box stand, just something like the base to a box stand with a rail around it for a rifle rest and maybe wrap it in camo netting? Where we hunt now, I'm not sure owner is goingto mow the bottom like he has the last couple years and we need something to get us above the weeds and scrubs. was thinking something like 4x6 and a rail like 3ft tall all the way around and maybe 4ft to the bottom. I have some 3/4' plywood to use for the floor.

    Thoughts?

    I think it'd be ok.
I can't see how it'd be much different, in theory, from a ladder stand or lock on.

I did something like that and put a pop up on it. It worked great.
Depends on how much material you have, it may be worth it to put some 2x4’s in the corner and put some tin on top to keep the rain off of you.

Just had this one built and plan on putting a pop up on it for rifle season with the 5 yr old. Then next year I'll spend a little and put a fiberglass blind on it

I know a guy in Walker that makes them out of steel, takedown so one person can set up and takedown, around 200.00

That sounds like a steal of a deal.

                          Similar to one above??

How much did that one cost to get built if you don't mind me asking? Looking for similar that just needs plywood added. Putting a Krivoman on it

Hunted out of something similar on a TPWD youth hunt

                            Worked good

Did a little trading for it but I think they are are between 300-350
