    Question on bow release noise

Was trying to search old threads to find what I was looking for but to no avail so figured I’d go ahead and ask the question myself.

I’ve got a Trufire finger release that is about 5-6 years old now. I noticed this year that as I draw my bow back the material that makes up the release is very squeaky compared to how it’s been in past years. I do realize that the release is right next to my ear when drawing so sounds louder to me than it may to an animal standing 20 yards away, but still seems much louder than it used to be. I am sure some of y’all have had similar issues and was wondering if anyone had any foolproof solutions, besides buying a new release ha, that they could share with me to mitigate the noise? Tried rubbing some leather conditioner into it but that did not seem to work. Any ideas are much appreciated.
    Thx

I used to shoot a trufire hardcore max and the leather used to make a little noise when drawing. I had two, they were both broke in and they both did it. Make sure everything is tight and don’t over think it. Our equipment always seems louder when we are behind the bow. Maybe you can post a video and we can see?

Its funny you posted about that. I have the exact same problem. Mine never squeaked until this year, its probably 4-5 years old. TruFire hardcore. I really like the release but that noise seems loud to me. I tried leather conditioner also, no help. Its right where the bottom of my palm touches the leather. I tried tightening the strap, but mine is stretched out now and Im on the last notch. Thought about putting some mole skin on the leather, idk.

First, it's not going to scare the deer.
Second, buy some powder graphite ar the hardware store, should be in the lock section.
Remember, people talk on cameras with deer inside 20 yes all the time when they make videos

Thanks for the info. Could you elaborate a little bit on the graphite powder please sir?

Exactly my issue. As I draw back the leather under the palm is the noisiest

Graphite powder is a very good lubricant ( for lack of a better word ) but it can be a bit messy until all the extra falls off. And, it does not really smell.

Neatsfoot oil---what I put on my new baseball gloves years ago--keeps the leather soft and quiet--

X2 on the graphite powder. But be sure and apply it outside. That stuff can flat get away from you. Ask me how I know.

This way over graphite. Ever try to get graphite off your hands or clothes. Use it on locks not your release imho
