    Technology Question

For those of you with leases/farms/ranches off the grid, what technology or carrier do you use in order to utilize your laptop to view TC pics?

Also, would like the opportunity to enjoy College/NFL football, but not pay for an annual subscription, possibly monthly?

    What say the GS?

We used satellite for ever, then they finally ran lines in our area and we have cable. Works great! Very expensive though!

I use a CradlePoint device that comes with high gain antennas. This thing pulls signal when cellphones show 0 bars. Can stream TV and surf web also when needed. I have literally worked remote and done WebEx while at the lease. Will require an additional SIM card from your cell provider.

Interested, can you share more. I am familiar with Cradle Point routers and the singal boost comimg out of the router via antennas but what are you using to boost the incoming cellular signal ? Thanks

Nothing more than the Cradlepoint itself. This is one we use. I have even set it up once to do a point to point VPN with my business for a remote location that the fiber was cut. We ran the front office email, and VoIP phones for a 10 person staff while our external fiber plant team fusion spliced the break.

For viewing TC pics, you don't need anything. For TV you need what is discussed above.

Ok thanks. Still curious what's boosting the upstream cell signal, that's all downstream after the router has a signal to distribute. Unless I am missing something and that possible lol
