    Water Tank Question

I put this water tank and trough in to provide a water source at one of my spots to see how much more animals it will bring in.

However, due to all the rain that we’ve been having, I wasn’t able to get up to the ranch until the Friday before opening day of bow season.
A buddy helped me get everything set up and after we were finished we left my place and went to his ranch in Bandera to hunt opening weekend.

My question is about how long before the deer get used to it, and will it hurt my hunting since I got it in so close to the season?

    Thanks!

They will get used to it quick and appreciate it if the ground ever dries. Looks like a job well done.

I built a rain guzzler out at my place with a small in-ground liner to hold the water. Trail cam showed I had deer drinking out of it that same night.

You need to hog proof it as best as you can. Need to make it about 24" higher than the ground.

That’s what the rocks are for. I poured mortar all around the trough and set the stones in it so that the pigs can’t flip it. Plus, we don’t have very many pigs on our place as it is, so I don’t think it will be an issue.

Thanks! It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be!
