    Colorado 2nd Rifle Unit 77/78

Is it even worth getting a bear tag? I have an Elk & Mule deer and wondering if it was even worth getting a tag.

Depends on if you have the cash to spen. They are getting ready to den up. I've never hunted 2nd rifle in Co. 3rd, bow and muzzleloader. With that being said, I've only seen 1 bear in 25ys, during 3r season. Lots during bow and ML. The later it gets, the slimmer your chances imo.
    There's always a chance though.

We saw allot of track last years, and even had a small bear paw print on the frost of my cooler in our campsite... so they are there. I think it depends on the area and hunter traffic.

good news is sows den up first. 78/77 is loaded with good bears. I’ve hunted that unit for 35 years, 3rd season is an iffy deal for bear compared to earlier seasons but IMO still worth the tag cost if you can swing the money, they are still up and going in SCO in third season
