mine did the same thing about 6 months ago.. replaced the thermostat, heating element, this, that, whatever else.. i ended up throwing the mf'r in a field and running it over with a tractor..
If you let lent build up, then it may be the thermal fuse. Follow the wires from the element back to the thermal fuse. It doesn't look like a regular fuse. Use your ohm meter to check it the same as you check the element.
had the same thing happen a couple years ago. I'm embraced to admit the issue, after changing out multiple parts, was the breaker. Older house where the 230 circuits were two separate breakers not connected. So I was only getting 110 to the dryer. It would run but not heat.
