On a Tacoma, 265 is as big as you can go without a lift.

            I would think a 265 is a 265 is a 265 irregardless of rim size.

I have 265s on my taco with 16" wheels. No issues

This is correct. 265 is the width. I also have 16" wheels and run 265/75/16

265 70 r17 much more and trimming will be required. I am rolling a 2017 trd sport tacoma but I just put bilstein 5100's and OME 887 on the front and a progressive leaf pack on the rear. Got just over 2" in the front and a smoother and firmer ride along with 1.5" in the rear....love the ride and the stance

I did the 5100s a month or so ago along with new rear springs courtesy of Toyota recall. VERY happy with the ride!

Struggling not to put a new 17" rim and tire

You can go larger if you never need to turn!

Throw a 6" suspension lift on it and go 35s
