Looking for some ideas on how people setup their hog pen to train their bay and catch dogs

Oh yea they do. I’ve seen quite a few. I’d just like to see some ideas from other people (who know what they are talking about) to see what does or doesn’t work for them.

Buddy I run with has a 5 acre bay pen. Has net wire all around t. It’s inside 100 acres. When he wants a pig he’ll let his feeder run a few days and close the gate on em.

Another buddy has one maybe 50’x50’ made out of pallets, cattle panel, tin, tires, and anything else to cover a hole. Back trailer into it, drop hog in it, turn pups out with big dog and let em work.

Thanks for the ideas fish. I’m leaning more towards something like the second option you stated. Probably going to get some panels and put black tarp around the outside. I’ll prolly try to make mine round though. Pigs always go to corners on square or rectangular pens and it makes them easy to bay. I think a round pen would make it harder for the dogs to bay because the pig will keep moving more, which in turn, makes them get more practiced and skilled.
