    Worry vent

So as all of yall know the oilfield is not doing the best right now. Im a toolpusher on a rig in Ft worth and we are stacking out(no more work) in two days. This means no jobs for the lower positions and some higher positions on the rig. I am the highest man on the rig and have been promised that i will have a job, but there is still a thought in the back of my head that may not be true. I have been with them for a long time and have set some company records and think i dont have to worry but who knows. Oh well ill just hope for the best.

My BIL is in the oil business and he is having to stack out his rigs and lay people off too. He used to roughneck years ago, but now he is the #2 in the company and he hates having to do that to his guys.

I think allot of people are getting effected.

USW is in negotiations and the end of Jan is the deadline.
If they strike, my plany has to follow in one month after.
This is a very serious problem.

All income & insurance will stop.
And the worst part is there will be so many people looking for jobs because they are on strike. You wont find a job!
Allot of people stand to lose their homes and cars.

[B]dfwhogkiller[B] my rig is just south of i 20 between aledo and willow park.

Heath a tool pusher is the boss on the rig. We make sure the crews are taking care of business. We also make all parts and supply orders for the rig. We do the hiring and firing. We also do all the daily paperwork and reports and make sure safety is being used on the rig.

good luck man, I think you'll be OK though. I was running out in the field the other day, and one of the patterson rigs had 6 tool pushers working the floor.

you think there were any arguments going on?

I think most of the contractors are going to get rid of the younger inexperienced hands first... most of the pushers I've talked to are either going to other rigs, or working the floor on their current rig.

I wish you the best though, hopefully we'll all pull through this in one piece.

So DXT you're mostly drilling Barnett shale? I am working on several prospects further west, mostly shallow (oil and gas). Sounds like it's not going to be too hard finding a rig or a pulling unit in the next little while.

Here in this area the gas rigs have just about shut down.My property is in a gas pool and they were paying about 125.00 an acre in the summer and now it is about 30.00 an acre.Maybe it will pick back up soon. Will keep you in our prayers.
