Taking the shot on a buck

When you have a buck come to your feeder that you know you want to shoot, do you get ready to draw as soon as you see him or do you let him get settled into feeding before you get ready.

I get ready asap so when the shot opportunity is there I'm ready.

I typically let them settle in, but it depends on how he is acting and how well I can control myself

I like to let them get settled and comfortable before I do anything.

I’m ready to shoot him the second I KNOW I can kill him. All factors into consideration

If he’s jumpy, but 8 yards.... I’ll let him see how far he can carry a slick trick

First shot I get I'm trying to let the air out. Never know when the will change their mind and leave

Soon as i get animals moving in i slowly pick my bow up. Even if i see they’re smaller bucks or does that I don’t plan to take. I do this just in case a little time later after the big guy has determined there’s no threat he decides to mosey on in. Id rather be bow in hand and ready then caught holding air. Just IMO.

As soon as I see ANY deer I pick my bow up and get ready to go just in case.

Where I hunt, the mature bucks aren’t going to show themselves in the days during season more than once or twice and when they do they don’t hang around long. If he’s a shooter, I’m slingin a stick first chance I get

I usually pick up my bow soon as deer start heading my way.

The best chance you will have to kill a big buck is when you see him... Don't dilly dally.. Get ready WHILE HE IS STILL MOVING and when he stops let it rip if he stops and is in a good position.. No need to wait..
