What happened to this battery?

Feeder didn’t go off yesterday morning

After lunch I went and checked batteries and sure enough there was not enough juice to spin the plate

Changed batteries out and when I got back to house I noticed one had a ring around it

Checked voltage and all were above 1.5 volts except the one with the ring and it had 0
Cheapo tester that does not put load on (at least as far as I can tell)

I believe that battery overheated and vented. Rather than blow up it vents. Unlike cheapest lithiums

Never heard of a battery "venting"

Guess that is better than burning my feeder down
