I agree with others that #14's teammates should have defended him.

#76's coach should have pulled him if the refs didn't. I'd also give him opportunity to stay on the team but he would be suspended until I thought he learned his lesson. His attitude while receiving the punishment would determine how long he sits out or if he stays on the team.

Punishment would start the next morning at 5am at the practice field. I would also expect him to practice on the scout team and assist the water boys at both practice and games. He would not have a second chance.

Still have missing information as to wether or not this was an attack or if the kid got what was coming to him. There’s plenty of kids in high school that have little man syndrome and run their trap every chance they get. One of those you have to be on the field situations playing alongside to really know what went down.

No additional sanctions from UIL for Waco football player who attacked Burleson player

The UIL will not add new sanctions for the Waco freshman football player who attacked a Burleson player during a game last month.

UIL officials said they made their decision after finishing an investigation this week into the Sept. 13 freshman game between Waco University High School and Burleson High School.

Waco ISD initially said the attacker was suspended one full game for multiple attacks on Burleson's No. 14, Jagger Johns. But during the UIL investigation, it was revealed the district's punishment was more than a one game suspension.

According to the Burleson Star, the superintendent told the UIL the boy received additional punishment. That included suspension from all extracurricular activities, extra physical punishment like running during practice and he was not allowed to play again until the victim was well enough to play.

Johns missed several games because of a concussion.

John's mother couldn’t be reached for comment by FOX4. She can appeal the UIL's decision.

If 14 was my son, and if what 76 did was unprovoked, I would be on the field in a heart beat to protect my son. There is too much of a physical difference in kids that age to be fighting. Bigger kids can seriously harm smaller kids. When it's football we all know the risks and kids get clocked all the time but this is fighting not football.

Can you control your child's actions 100% of time? Answer that question honestly and you have answered your own question. Pretty harsh statement telling the coach to volunteer his time elsewhere when I would be willing to bet he has mentored and helped more kids than we ever will.

You know after reading it again maybe I was out of line, my apologies chunking lead and thank you for investing time in our future, Takes a special person to do that. But your right I can’t say I control my kids 100% of the time but I’m responsible for but kids 100% of the time. A coach may have them a few hrs a week for practice and a few hrs a week for games where he will have direct supervision at all times. That’s like apples to oranges. I will say it starts at home though, if kids get good parenting it undoubtedly makes it easier for the coaches and unfortunately, all kids don’t. Once again my apologies sir I was out of line. And thanks for pointing it out Cuda.

I know Jagger, he & my son played select baseball together for a few years. Great kid, even tempered, heart of a champion; I don't care if he was seeing #76's mother and sister on the side, his actions have ABSOLUTELY no place on the field.

I don't understand why his team mates and coaches weren't beating the **** of that punk AND his coach(es).

Yes it should have been dealt with after but a coach can’t keep kids from doing as they please when they decide they are going to do something like this. Enlighten me how you would coach from your couch and behind the screen. No I do not have a dog in this fight but yes I am a coach.
1st time, agreed. 2nd time, it's on you. Kid should have been out of the game.

That kid should be kicked off the team, minimum.

Not enough facts to determine anything based on the mom's story. It should be investigated more. Face value, looks like a whooping, but I am not rushing to judge until I hear the other sides story.
So what if he did get with someone's girlfriend?
That's not how you settle it.
76 should be gone and if there's any coach involvement in this at all they should be fired. No place for this in UIL sports.

I don’t know the facts but all I can say is I would probably be arrested if that was unwarranted
