    What to do with AR??

    I recently bought an AR...

The upper is a Bushmaster Carbon 15..... The problem is, the person I bought it from spray painted the Upper. The Upper was Desert Tan with a chrome barrel. I have attempted to remove the spray paint, but anywhere there is a pore in the fore end or receiver the paint cant be removed. I have removed the paint from the barrel, so it's back to original. But the rest looks like crap....

What should I do with it...?

Send it to Bushmaster and have them re-do it?
Take it to Gander Mt. and let them camo or parkerize it?

    The lower is Black..

Get Gunkote or Dura-Coat and spray paint it black.

Not sure on the carbon stuff but aresol brake cleaner will take that paint off....or just repain it.

Oh, I don't know? It's probably worthless now that you've made a mess of it. I'll give you $20 for it, and dispose of it for ya. Really though I'm sure a professional gunsmith could help you.

Brake cleaner will turn the carbon portion white with residue, but nothing a little oil will take care of. Id say take it to someone who knows how to remove paint from carbon fiber and ask the body repairman how to get it off

bring it to a gunsmith and have them bead blast all the painted parts.... barrel, stock, tube, etc.....

use 0000 steel wool and varsol to remove paint from upper...... rub softly to avoid removing anodizing

this should bring the finish back close to original or more eye appealing

contact chrisgunguy and see if he has any suggestions

C - Take it over to Burdett and Son. Ask Barry to look at it and offer suggestions. His advice is free.

First thing I'd do is, find a good Doctor for the guy you bought the rifle from.

Check Brownell's, they have a huge selection of coatings. I would call and explain your situation.
