    Axis kill

A friend of mine invited me up to his ranch yesterday to get an axis with my bow, it was a great hunt. After getting all excited and over shooting the first time the big axis finally came back in range. The first time he was broadside at 19 yards and I shot about 3 inches over him but I made the last shot count. He is 29 inches and in full velvet, my taxi says he is going to make a beautiful mount.

Congrats! I hope he ain't too balled on the ends for a mount. At 29 if he would have grown all the way out he would have been a horse. Enjoy the mount, but the meat eats a lot better! Congrats again

My friends ranch is in Centerville, TX off Hwy 7. His horns were real round on the ends, soft and they were flexable, I just called my taxi and he explained the process he has to do and said they would be fine.
