I just checking the weather for opening weekend in the hill country. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s with a NE wind. Sounds like a cold front to me.

Supposedly some of the signs are pointing to an early, very cold winter. I’d be happy with that for sure.

This mornings GFS model shows a decent cold front knocking on the door Thursday before the opener, but a lot can and probably will change

I've seen this as well. They are also predicting some sever weather with this model.

Euro model is still updating but the GFS among others are still showing signs of a Canadian cool/cold front the end of next week! Fingers Crossed!
