Please remember, the local jewelry shops will bargain. It's kind of like buying a truck, but they back off much faster. Find what you want, then go to other jewelers and ask if they can beat the price. Good luck

I would also reccomend building the ring. Buy the stones once you know the design you want and then just shop stones. Probably can do the stones at your residence

I would recommend Dennis Jewelers on 281. They can custom build what you want at a good price and they are great folks and big hunters. Ask for Jason Dennis, he is a nice young man.

Visit a couple custom jewelers before you settle. Try Herfort Diamond Ring Factory in Rosenberg if you have time. They have done some great work.
