I have my PMP certification and rarely do i need to use the tools provided by the Project Management Institute in everyday work. We do use charters but for Oil & gas work.

I concur, there way of teaching hardline, in this order, this input must lead to this output....... is not reality and real world.

I'm a project manager for a paving trade subcontractor in the Houston area, which is no help at all to the OP.

But, as it seems that every other swinging **** is a PM for a commercial GC, I thought I would throw that out there.

Do you do any underground work or just paving? I am a PM for an underground supplier here in Houston.

Yup, PM in the Utility Solar business. On my 3rd or 4th PMP cycle and it is like anything else, wont teach you everything but you’ll learn some useful things from it.
