    Mathews Switchback pull

What poundage does a Switchback and Switchback Xt 60-70 lb bottom out at on the low end? Would it go as low as 55 lbs?

    #2
I don't think it will go that low. If it did it wouldn't be good for the bow. Might think about getting new limbs for it.

I am having a hard time finding a 50-60 lb bow. Seems lke everyone likes to pull a lot of weight...

I was just in the bow shop today and we were playing with my 60-70# switchback. 4 turns out is about 55# and is no problem.

Its not recommended to go more than 10# below, so 60#.

Thanks, looks like I am in the hunt for a quality used bow with 60# limbs. Everything I find is 70#, kind of like everyone shoots a 300 mag, elephant gun or 50 cal... joking of course!

All you need to do is short string it, then you could safley get it down to where you need it...with out hurting the bow...

BECAREFUL, backing the limb bolts out. I would let a shop do it. I saw a guy come in that was backing them out and thought the bolt had a stopper on it. The bow came apart and the limb smacked him under the chin and he got a few stiches. He was lucky he could have lost some chicklets.

Check with our very own shipping and receiving person - Mary. I think she was selling hers, could be wrong though

I would opt for 60 lb limbs, even though you could turn it back that far it would not be optimum. Would not mess with strings that much because it would be way out of specs. Bows have a sweet spot and mostly it is around or close to limbs max weight -5lbs or so. Look on Archerytalk.com and you should be able to come up with something.

It was a Mathews dealer that was adjusting mine...we were checking it on a scale and it safely turned down to to 55#.
