    Ideas needed

Trying to figure out what to do for my birthday. Me and my wife are going somewhere for my birthday on Sept 22nd. I have to work half a day on Saturdays so trying to find something within a couple hours of Tyler/Canton area. We like the stockyards in Ft Worth and boardwalk in Bossier. Not a big gambler. Just trying to find something different. Want to be able to eat a steak or mexican food and have a drink or two. Not a big partier anymore.

    Any ideas?

Sept 22 was my Daddy's birthday. I hope you have a blessed one. I don't have much in the way of suggestions. I've heard Pappa's Steakhouse has some excellent steaks. If the Ranger's are in town, you could take in a ball game. I know it's not the Astros, but at least it's baseball. The wife and I spent the day in Waxahachie not too long ago. It's a pretty little town with more historical markers than any other Texas town. We finished the day off with a chicken fried steak from the Rockett Café in Rockett, Texas. Their CFS is a sight to behold. It's so large you could use it for a blanket, except for the fact that it's so delicious you won't have time to cover up with it before eating the entire thing.

Hit a Brazilian steakhouse and do an escape room.

Take your daughter to a softball tournament.

Oh wait. That's what I'm doing. Carry on.
                  Brazilian steakhouse would be good!

                      Excellent suggestion.

You mentioned steak they have an awesome steak house.

Superior’s Steakhouse in Shreveport, Louisiana is a fine dining restaurant you deserve to experience in a comfortable Chicago style steakhouse setting.

Another option is a short drive South of Shreveport. Natchitoches, Louisiana on the Cane River.

Lots of good eats in town.

Tour the kipersol winery and distillery and eat there as well. It’s in Bullard with places to stay close by or on site. If planning to eat there I’d make reservations because it’s small and go with whatever the server recommends they are some of the best.

And happy birthday, should I forget
