Colorado GMU 81

Headed out on my first trip to colorado September 6th my guided hunt turned into a go all by myself hunt.. (long story).. I am focused on 81 not looking for anyones go to spots just any insight like a parking starting point.. I will hike in as far as it takes.. what is a must have in my pack etc..?

I will be in the area on or about the 10th... I had planned to hunt the east side of the wilderness area but have now decided to to on the western side via unit 78... Sorry I am no help as this will be my first trip... Best of luck to you Sir.

I’m not planning on hunting 81, but if Plan A and B don’t work out, I may be in that same general area.

JT's hunt was in New Mexico, but still great info for any elk hunt, I would bet.
