Ethanol Free Gas and Long Term Fuel Storage

I am trying to find out what you guys recommend regarding long term fuel storage, particularly for an ATV. I am having to spend some money on carb cleanout for my ATV that gets little use. My ATV mechanic blames it on Ethanol content and current gasoline formulation imposed by the government. He said even if you use ethanol free gas, the current gas formulations will result in the gasoline going bad over time, which could also damge the fuel system.

I have looked at some of the fuel stabilzer brands, and most seem to fous on counteracting the effects of ethanol. My question is if I use ethanol free gas, which is sold at Bucees, should I use a different type/brand of fuel stabilizer. Any insight or recommendations would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know if ATV makers are making fuel systems that hold up better to ethanol, kind of like automobile companies designing flex fuel cars that have fuel systems that are not as subject to corrosion with the use of higher ethanol content gas.

This has solved my problems. I use it with both ethanol and non ethanol gas.

This works well to remove water from ethanol based gas.

I have had great luck with Sea Foam.

Been using it 3 years in my mower, starts first time, every time. Even after sitting for a couple of months.

For my Stihl equipment, just use tru fuel.

My buddy rebuilds old motorcycles. He contacted a motorcycle museum. They said to use outboard motor oil. I once to the gallon. I have used it for several years with good results.

            Pri-G

Most treatments contain both ethanol treatment and fuel stabilizers.

Run it out of gas. No matter what gas or what additive you use it will go bad.

I buy aviation fuel at the airport and mix 1 oz of Marvel Mystery oil per gallon. It has a min shelf life of 10 years. It's about $4.20 a gal. Been using it for years and my long term storage items like generators. Also use it with oil mix in my weed eaters. Even use it in a motorcycle I don't ride very often.

Our mechanic says to turn the gas line off and run it out. Put full additive in the tank. Haven't had any problems with ours since doing this.

I much prefer the Star-tron additive over Stabil.
