what program do you use? Why?

I find myself a rather busy person. I run 500 miles an hour with my arse on fire, everyday, all day. I have a full time job that is 40 to sometimes 80 hours a week. I have a string of rent houses from Oklahoma to Port O'Connor. I have a dog training business that is somewhat seasonal (Snake Avoidance).

I have a target date of retiring from my regular job and boost my dog training business as a career for the rest of my able years. AS of right now my books are fairly scattered and my tax guy is getting a little ticked off at my "Shoebox" method of records keeping.

So what over the counter program do you guys use to keep up with your business? I want to be able to either send via email, my records to my tax guy or carry a thumb drive to him.

To tell you how bad it is. He and I spent 2 hours writing on the top of the receipts as to which business the receipt was for. I can't keep banging my head this way. I am sure I am losing money as a result of this.

I have used QB online for many years now , You CPA or who ever can log directly in and only have access to what they need , bank data will be there as well Taxes etc. I do not use the CC through QB as i have a better online source for that.

I have the app on my phone , tablet lap top etc . So logging in any where is simple ,

Email out just as simple for estimate invoice sending a bill to a vendor etc .

    payroll if needed .

I love it and my tax lady loves me for using it as well . You can then set up what is what or have some one do it and fuel for travel , insurance etc all goes into the proper area .

3 month trial I use the 50 per month which may sound costly at first however unlimited tech support no program that is out of date and you have to buy new . With 25 years running a business I have tried many this works the best for me .

receipt capture off your phone , so once you take the photo load it toss the paper that you are holding in a shoe box

Decide who you will use for bookkeeping and tax first if you don't already know. Then ask them which format they would prefer you to use (that works for you as well of course). I know a lot of bookkeepers and accountants who despise QB online, and have other methods that they prefer and might work for you. But yes, QB (quickbooks) is an awesome program that is very popular for a reason.
