My boss just traded in his 15 tundra for a f150. He is the most particular person I’ve ever met and treated his like gold, it went to the dealership more times than I can remember all before 65k miles. Drove it with care and got 13-16mpg.
His new f150 with 10sp/5.0 gets 19-20mpg.
I have a 2.7 ecoboost in my f150 and I average 23mpg with a high of 24.4, but I try to stay below 70mph.
I went from a 2013 gmc 2500 with 6.0 getting 12mpg avg (loved this Truck)
to a 2014 Tundra 4" lift 34" tires 5.7 getting 15mpg avg (Really love this truck!!!)
when I pull my bull trailer loaded down I get 9.5 mpg with tundra.
2013 tundra 5.7 4x4 with 4.10 gear gets 14.25mpg mixed driving and 16mpg’s at 70 mph or less. 98,000 miles with routine maintenance and no check engine codes. I’ll buy another when time comes...
My 2013 5.0 f150 has been the best truck I’ve owned. I drive it like a Polaris ranger on weekends and it’s probably been more places then all these tundra guys can dream of. 160k miles of some really rough driving, no major problems, overall average 15.7 mpg stock truck with bigger tires. Buddy has same year truck and engine that’s at 260k miles of oilfield road driving, no problems.
I don’t care for the newer Ford body style 2015 and up as much as my model though.
