    Serious question???

Looking to make a career change and I need advice. I have pastoral degree and just want to know what you all would get into as a 38 year old looking to provide for his family and make a change? Thank you

That's not an easy question for folks to answer when we don't know much about you. I've always heard to do what makes you happy. I'm not sure how that works out in real life, because I ended up doing what I loved (teaching), but I didn't know I loved it until after I had been doing it for a while. Here's one thing I can definitely say - I'll be praying that God will either lead you to something that you enjoy or else He will give you contentment in what you are currently doing.

Get into sales. It pays well if you can find something you are passionate about and make money selling it.

My brother in laws Dad was a pastor with similar degree. He left the ministry and became a really successful financial advisor.

I know of a pastor that left the ministry and now sells insurance. I would think that any pastor would be comfortable talking in front of crowds, groups or individuals. This would help make some type of sales be a good career path if getting out of the ministry.

Find something that you love, otherwise you will again end up on the same question.

I know a guy that has a degree from some really outstanding seminary , when he decided that he needed to make more money he took a job with a pipeline contractor and learned on the job worked hard and learned as much as he could, he is now a project manager in charge of huge projects. He said that he gets plenty of opportunity to be a witness daily because he walks differently than your average pipeline hand. God will open the right doors. God Bless

Law enforcement is always hiring. Decent pay and benefits. Patrol typically works 15 days a month. That being said, I would go firefighting route if I could do it over again. Everybody loves firefighters and they spend a lot of time sitting around the station. (I was a FF for 8 years)

That is tough to answer without knowing more. But as others have said you may do well in sales because every preacher, pastor, etc., I have ever known have been good with people. A career change can be exciting and scary at the same time. Good luck!

I am struggling with a similar decision. I am an engineer but due to many health issues I really think I need something that allows at least some work from home. My current company is 100% against it.

take this question boldly into the throne room, of The Most High God, in The name above all others, in heaven and on earth. you might find the right answer here, but you will surely find the right answer there.

blessings on to you in Jesus.

                            Ouch!
It is a good gig tho...most of the time.

My best good friend got tired of nursing/nursing admin. etc. and went to work for a cable/fiberoptics splicing company. OJT for a few weeks and get after it. Making pretty good bank too. Best of luck to you!

Wow, that's a pretty self righteous and arrogant kind of guy!!

OP...... I'm thinking getting into sales would be a good choice based on your background. Good luck to you.... I made a career change in my 40's and it worked out great
