Such a loaded question. Different setups, arrow weights, draw lengths, draw weights, situations.....

Would I recommend doing it if shooting 50lbs and a 370gr arrow? No

Would I hold back with my setup? 82.5lbs 31 1/2" draw, 580gr arrow at 298fps? No way, I'd take that shot all day long.

It's not that cut and dry

Have shot a few Trypans at pigs and not bending blades like the Hypo's did. Wouldn't shoot a shoulder with them though regardless.

There is a big difference between a shoulder shot, and a shoulder blade shot. Right through the center of the shoulders is about as perfect as you can get. You gotta be pretty high to hit the shoulder blade, and you certainly don't want to do that. I love a center shoulder shot.

I tend to stay away from shoulder shots, always try to double lung them. But if you can center the shoulder they won’t go far. As far as rage goes I’ve only had one problem with them, the blades break fairly easy, but they kill the hell out of deer!!
