    Beekeeper Question

I’m considering starting a few hives on my property and am curious how you guys get your supers and other material?

I don’t currently have any equipment at all, so where should I go to get my stuff?

I’m looking at langstroth hives for simplicity and it’s the most common hive setup.

Is there an online retailer that has good stuff for a reasonable price? Ebay? Amazon?

Find someone that had the same ideal as you and quit because of all the work involved and buy their equipment.

Mann Lake is a good resource. I’ve made some as well but when I factor in my time, it’s cheaper to buy them.

That’s pretty much where I am. I use to do everything myself, but things change over time

I’ve tried craigslist and there doesn’t seem to be much out there.

My wife's aunt has a Bee Supply business in Willis, you should give her a call or check out the store. She has everything you need to get started. We went there for her grand opening and I was shocked how many people showed up for it.

My brother in law and his wife own a business in Richmond/Rosenberg called Texas Honey Trading Company. They can probably help you out on finding supplies and getting started. They offer services to extract the honey from beekeepers around Texas because it is so time consuming and supposedly costly to extract it.
