    1971 Sako Rifle Scope rings

Getting close to my wits end. Does anyone know what kind of scope rings 1971 Sako uses? I need 30mm high. Here are pics for reference. Note the notch on one similar to Ruger and bases are different sizes.

I had a Sako 75 with the same machined base. I used a redfield dovetail base made for the Sako. They drift on and are simply held by friction. Doesn't seem right but mine never lost zero and it was a 300 RUM.

I then topped it with a set of Leupold dove tail rings in 30mm.

      Interesting, I'll look at that.

there are several companies that make a base and or ring for your rifle. Talley makes a really nice base and ring I have them on a few rifles.

If Talley makes a base that would be the direction I'd look.

Here are some original Sako rings from the 60's ~ 70's. Based on supply & demand, these original rings in excellent condition sell for $150+ . Collectors will pay a premium to make sure their scoped rifles are vintage. I know Sako offered low, med., and high 1" rings, I don't think they ever made a 30mm scope ring because tubes were all 1" back then

Go original on that old beauty, please!!!

                  Everything shouldn't be a sniper rifle, and doesn't need a 50mm scope.

Put a glossy old leupold on that classic and enjoy it!

I have original rings with a Leopold scope bought at same time. Going on elk hunt and just swapping scopes. It will go back to original when I'm back. My dad worked at Montgomery Wards in early 70's part time and has 6 of these beautiful rifles. He has a 25-06 that has beautiful maple finish. They all have leupold scopes he mounted. Said he paid like $400 for rifle and still has the receipt.
