    Inherited some land

Well recently my grandmother passed and she had 34 acres in Rusk county that I had absolutely no idea about. So today I made my way out to the property to brush hog and walk the fence lines. It honestly doesn’t seem like a bad place. VERY VERY thick. Cattle paster to the south and North, deer lease to the west and another small tract to the east. I’m unfamiliar with deer quality or quantity in the area but it looks like deer country. Any people familiar with the area? Just south of Henderson.

That’s awesome! I’ve seen some good deer come out of the area.

Edit - not awesome your grandma passed. Sorry for your loss.

Did you see any deer sign while on the tractor?

Some trails but I couldn’t hardly tell if they were hog or deer it was so **** dry. There is a creek on the south end that boarders the big cow paster with a trail between the creek and the paster that looked like deer. Some of the other trails were in extremely thick areas with tons of low hanging branches that I figured were hogs.

Sorry about the loss of your grandmother.
I bet the land was a pleasant surprise.
Dump a bag a corn in the ground, setup a cam....wait patiently for a few days!

I would highfence it, and throw some exotics in there.

Sounds like you’re close to Mt. Enterprise. That’s where most of my family is from. Can see some pretty good ones through there if they don’t get jack lighted

My condolences on the loss of your grandmother.

The place looks nice and I bet there are both deer and hogs that run through it. Best of luck with setting it up as a nice hunting spot.

                              Sorry about your grandmother.

I would make sure everyone knew there was a new owner who would be hunting there now.
Look for downed fences, put a new lock on your gate, hidden cameras.
