Questions, Tips, Etc...

Ok here's the deal, I have 300+/- acres in Lindale that backs up to the Old Sabine River Bottom WMA. This land has been in the girlfriends family for YEARS and has never been hunted other than the occasional hog trip by some family and 1 uncle who spradically deer hunts there.

The layout is about half hardwoods/swampy-area, and the other half is your typical paperfarm pine trees in rows. The middle section is open with a 1-2 acre pond, and there are roads/atv trails that go throughout the prop.

So my question is...How would you guys/gals go about getting this place set up to hunt???? Ive got some ideas but would really like some input. I have seen a few doe in the 2-3 trips we have been out and a ton of hogs both in the bottoms and in the pines. So any input on feeders, stands etc. would be awesome...

feeders and camras should be the first thing. That way you can see whats out there. If there is any nieghbors talk to them. Sounds like someone has been on that property alot with all the tracks.

I have been trying to "thin" the hog population every chance I get. As far as the neighbors... I have already come across a stand and a feeder on the property, that doesnt belong there....I infromed the gf's uncle and he really just doesnt give a crap...He also told me that the word around lindale is that everyone jumps the gate to come fish the pond...He doesnt really care about that either...I just dont want to sink alot of cash into this place and have someone steal or trash my stuff....
