    Brush fire

This fire is still burning north of Abilene. This afternoon it was near old Fort Phantom and Nugent. I got a couple pics from a hill 3 or 4 miles away - staying out of the way of the firefighters. It got pretty close to my deer lease - within a mile or so of the landowners' house. We were driving home from Albany tonight after a basketball game, and the flames were still very large and bright, but it had moved farther northeast.

Scary times right now with everything being so dry. Be careful out there, and don't start any fires!

Not good Shane. Everyone is starting to get uneasy. Its drier down here right now than it was when Cross Plains burned. I am really suprised we haven't had anything major down here yet.

The fire started just east of Hawley, and it's been moving all day/night. There have been at least 7 homes and 20 structures burned, and lots of evacuations in Jones County. News is saying the fire is only 20-40% contained right now.

Prayers sent for everyone out that direction and especially for the firefighters - all VERY small town volunteers along with Texas Forest Service.

That sucks Shane, maybe they can get it stopped before it does too much damage.
