Question for weboost cell phone booster owners.

I bought the home 4g weboost. My inside box with the lights on it gets really hot. The metal tip on the coax that comes out of it is almost too hot just to touch. Is this normal? Also the inside antenna doesn't even go though the thinnest of walls. Did I just get a dud or is this normal? It works ok if I sit in front of the inside antenna but not much else.

    Thanks

I only used the 3G booster but never had the hot problem. Doesn’t sound good to me. As far as going thru walls, I had the same problem while using it in a single wide trailer.

I have a weboost in my truck and the box gets very hot. Almost too hot to touch.
Weboost claims this is normal. It says on their website that their amplifiers can reach 150 degrees.
They recommend only touching it when it’s off

        Lol
Thank you. How did you come to know this? Did you call them or did you just read it on the website? If so that saves me a phone call tomorrow.

I cant understand why the indoor antenna wont go through thin walls. The very first early wireless routers had no problem with that at all.

Yep, my 4g truck booster get really hot too. I have it under the back seat and I worry it will catch something on fire if a shirt of jacket gets pushed on top of it.

Same here - gets hot to the touch - normal but a little unnerving the 1st time you notice it...

I have never felt the need to touch mine so I can't help you there but I have my internal antenna in the attic and we went from no service inside this metal box to great service.
