    Who has a Chevrolet Traverse?

Or any Chevy SUV. My wife drives a ‘15 Trax, and we are realizing quickly that it’s too small for a family car. Fun to drive, comfortable, and good mileage but all that fits in the back hatch is a stroller. Or groceries. Not both...

We spend a lot of time with my inlaws and Grandpa just moved in with them, so we are looking at third row SUVs to haul all of us.

Wife insists on a GM. How roomy is the traverse? Decent third row seats with a little cargo room behind? Or is it really an either/or deal, third row up or cargo space? I would love a Tahoe or a suburban but prices have become insane... Back in the late 90s/early 2000s, it seems every middle class family had a suburban.

How do y’all like the Traverse?

How beneficial is AWD in an SUV like this? Worth the higher price tag?

Any issues with ‘13-‘16 models? I imagine those are the year models we would be looking at if we were to replace the Trax.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

We have a 2015 LTZ Traverse and my wife loves it plenty of room, but make sure you get the bigger engine. She really likes the 2019 model.

My wife drives a ‘14. Plenty of room for 7 people. There is a little cargo space left when you raise the third seat. We are pleased with hers. Bought it new and have not had any issues.

We have a 17 Acadia. Wife loves it as do I. If I can get her to stop wrecking it I’ll really like it. We bought ours after my wife was driving her grandfathers 15 Traverse and got rear ended by a Chevy 1 ton pulling a trailer with a small tractor. The traverse handled that impact so well I was impressed. The 1 ton had to be towed away and she drove the traverse home. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with one.

We had an Enclave which is just the Buick version of the Traverse. For younger kids the third row is fine (ours had bucket middle seats). We have three kids and my oldest daughter sat back there and never really complained. It still has a little room with the seats up for groceries or a stroller but not both on the cargo area. But you can fold just one side down for more room. Overall it is a good vehicle but we decided to go bigger and got a Navigator L.

I had an 09 Traverse. At 150K miles it needed a new transmission. Put another 60K miles on and got rid of it in May.

Over all it was a reliable vehicle and other than the transmission, it never gave me problems. I just didn't like it.

The biggest complaint I had with it was backing up, and I let the sales guy convince me that FWD would pull a boat just fine. Should have gotten the AWD.

I like the new design, but it sounds like you're wanting to get a deal on a slightly used one.

I'd point you to the Acadia (GMC's version of the traverse) but nicer body style. Make sure you get one with the backup camera.

Wife is on her 2nd one and loves the way it drives and rides. We went with buckets seats in the 2nd row on this one because the kids are older. No hesitation recommending the vehicle.

Wife has a traverse through work they give her. We've taken it on a few road trips when I've had time to go with her for work trips. It's not a bad car. She likes it.
