    ughhh !

last night I got my truck broken into !

stuck a screw driver in my door !

    took my navigation
    2 amps
custom sub box and my front door speakers ! (who the hell would take the time to steal door speakers) (mine were nice) (jl zr componets) but how did they even know they were in there !

    anyways here is my ?

they took all my contents of my center armrest (1500 in sunglasses and some paper work ) my backpack (lucky for me I had my laptop with me)

but my reciepts for all my stereo gear was in my truck and the place that put it all in has gone under ....

how do I get it back from my insurance (wait my insurance will cover it right ) (I have full coverage)

Im waiting on my claims agent to call me back but they are taking forever !

credit card statements will show where the stuff was purchased from and the amount spent if you used plastic. sounds like someone you know wanted your hardware more than you did.

Your personal items (sunglasses, navigation system, etc) will have to be covered under your homeowner policy subject to the deductible on that policy.

Regarding the special stereo equipment, did you have it specifically endorsed on your policy? If not, it will be subject to payment typical of factory installed equipment. A special endorsement (and additional premium) are required to cover custom sound receiving equipment or other equipment not factory installed.

You may be in a mess anyway if you don't have the receipts and the place has gone out of business. If you scheduled it on your policy, your agent may have copies of it. I sure wouldn't have kept that kind of paperwork in my truck.

Damage to the vehicle will be covered subject to your "Other Than Collision" deductible.

Good luck with all of it. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Since you still have the reciepts in the truck, was the stuff relatively new?

Stealing door speakers to me shows me that someone knew that they were there and worth something to someone.

My wife just had her purse taken in a smash & grab on our H3 on the 9th, the only thing they didn't get was her truck keys that she had in her pocket

Unfortunately nice aftermarket stereo systems in a vehicle are like neon signs that scream "COME STEAL ME". You'd do better to take your settlement $ and get a factory system reinstalled and get some sort of lockbox you could lock your valuables in when you aren't in it. That would be one less thing to entice the smash and grab guys from hitting your truck again.

My truck was broken into in May and they got $1100 bucks worth of stuff, including my wallet and ipod. My deductible was $1000.

As others have said, if you don't have receipts, anything you can provide to prove what was stolen will help with the insurance company.

                  Theives suck.

my uncle had purchased a TV from a store took it home hooked it up went out to dinner and came home. It was gone. Only thing missing was the TV no one knew he got a new TV. Turns out the kid who sold it to him tipped off a buddy about the TV and the address of the buyer. Your door speakers were stolen by someone that knew what they were... Out of business = needs money.

                    good luck

not necessarily, they just knew nobody was going to see them. you can tell an aftermarket speaker most of the time just from the face.
