My mother in law passed away several years ago and was a donor. Thankfully they were able to harvest and use several of her organs. Several months later the family was invited to a ceromony honoring folks who had done this! It was pretty amazing and very special to her family! The coolest part were all the people working at this event. They were all recipients and under thier name had listed what organ they recieved and how long ago! Just amazing to see that! Those people wouldn't be alive without that gift!

I'm an organ donor and have been for years.

Great story and tearful ending about a local kid who achieved his dream of playing in the NFL, yet made lots of poor decisions which eventually cost him his life.

I ran into Chris' mother 3-4 yrs ago and was overcome with emotion. She was in town as the guest speaker for a LOPA convention. All I could do was give her a hug, thank her, and let her know she was in my prayers. I pray and support those parents who have walked in her shoes.
