4 is too young to force him to play. He will figure it out. We signed our kids up at 4 to play soccer, baseball, and I think flag football. They have stuck with baseball and love it. They practice everyday on their own. They’re almost 7 now. Y’all will figure it out in a couple of years.

Update. We didn’t play soccer and I’m glad. Saturdays can be spent doing other things. Like today. We may not see or kill anything but we’re going!
