Cool! I bet that's a tough but rewarding job. Kudos to people such as yourself for doing the work yall do.
My bride is from Plainview and her sister and nieces all live in Lubbock. My son attends tech so we are in town quite a bit. I always enjoy Lubbock.

Well got it done last week on one of our target deers, I passed him early season with bow hoping for something a little bigger but he was 5.5 and went over 130 so pretty good deer for the last hunt I my season.

Shot a good one just in the panhandle north of Childress on 12/22. Not very wide but had great beam length and mass. Grossed 146 7/8.

                          Nice buck Wolf Creek!

Here in Hemphill Co., I still have a lot of does running around with their fawns. Most of them, actually. Saw a fawn the other day that, while it didn't have spots, I wouldn't be surprised if it was born in late August/early September. It was tiny.

My unscientific theory is that when the drought broke here in early 2013, the best recruitment was from the latest bred does. Those offspring likewise got bred later and the late breeding has continued. Makes sense to me, anyways.

Pretty fun hunt. Shot him at 416 yards with my buddy’s Gunwerks 7mm LRM. I sure love to bow hunt but shooting them out there a ways is a good bit of fun too.
