Just to test a cellular game cam, can you use the sim card from your reg cell phone?

Lets say I wanted to buy a used cellular game camera. Just for testing purposes, could I pull the sim card out of my cell phone and plug into it to test it? Or are they special sim cards? Lets assume it is a AT&T camera and AT&T phone service.

Has anyone done this to confirm that this works?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeremy

    Never done it.
Information off the sim card and device are required for activation when you set up a new camera. Not sure what would happen if you swapped sim cards.
Give it a shot and report back.

Works swapping sims on unlocked phones, not sure about a camera. Sims also come in different sizes, so start there and make sure they take the same size before going in the field:

      Standard SIM (15 x 25mm)
      Micro SIM (12 x 15mm)
      Nano SIM (8.8 x 12.3mm)

I, I mean a friend of mine, got a sim card (wrong size) stuck in a brand new camera trying that.

Since I swap mine between cell phones (with the same carrier), and keep the same number while doing it, I can not see why it wouldn't work as long as the card is the required same size. GCams are nothing more than a cell that dosen't accept/send calls, only text.
