Anyone Manage their own rental

Vacation rental, condo in Galveston. What do I need to know? We have been looking at opportunities and a condo has kinda fell into our lap. Still working out the math and pricing. Would rather manage ourself through vrbo just not sure what that entails.

VRBO is a great option and they offer a payment solution. You can also try PayPal, but the VBRO service is more convenient.

Its good to have a cleaning service you can trust. I'll PM you with the lady we use...its $120 for a house...maybe less for a condo. They can also serve as your eyes/ears for any potential damage to the property.

The hand-off of keys use to be an issue, but now you can install (DIY) keyless locks with a key pad that allow you to set a combo from your phone/IPad. You can even set a time for the code to expire. Really simple...
