Texas public hunting or deer lease available

Well I had two great leases one in Abilene and another in Vernon which was both sold out from under us this year. So far can't find a lease and it's getting late to find one. I have never hunted public land in Texas only in Kansas. I have some public hunting areas around me here in Fairfield, but looks like draw hunts only. I wanted me and my son to go but he is in college at Texas A&M and will not be able to leave school on the draw dates. Are there any areas that you can deer or duck hunt on your own at anytime without being drawn? Any information or suggestions would be helpful or any known available leases.

Lots of public opportunity around and in close proximity of Fairfield. Short drive west to Lake Whitney/Aquilla.
Easy access and simple to get permits.
Most lakes have some sort of duck hunting allowed. Will have to look at whatever body of water your looking at and get out there and scout. Helpful if you have a boat to get away from the crowds.

Unless things have changed, some of the WMAs allow walk-in archery hunting if you have the APH (Annual Public Hunting) permit. Dad and I used to hunt Tawakoni.
