    Skin Condition---- - Jul 20 2018 - 11-26 PM.pdf

Is this something that I should be worried about spreading through out the herd? Has anyone seen deer with skin conditions like this? Any way to treat it or prevent it from spreading?

No, I think he is just shedding his hair (molting ). He is OK.

I agree shedding his summer coat, yet noticed the nasty open gash on bridge of his nose. Could that be from rubbing nose on protein feeders openings ??

Only have corn feeders out. Many of the bucks I have on camera are shedding but none look like this.

        Can deer get mange?

Got his sun block on, looking for a pool to cool off in.

                  Just shedding more then likely.
Yes deer can get mange but it is very rare for them to

Don't really see any evidence of a skin condition. As others have said, just the way they look in the summer. Appears to be a pretty good chunk of snout missing though, I'd be more concerned about that. What appears to be an damage-induced antler (3rd pedicle) is interesting though. Be interesting to see how it progresses in future years on this young deer.

                      Good catch on the nose

It looks like no hair on skin to me though, maybe just the way it appears on my screen

That wound on his nose looks to goes all the way into his nasal cavity.

Yep. That could be an issue. The hide not so much.

That and the lump under his chin are the first things I noticed.
