I think you get the negative comments because a lot of people remember the good old days and hate to see where leases are going in price, size, and number of guns. Their only way to fight back is to try and discourage others from paying it. In their heart they know someone will pay the asking price and that will eventually effect them or their lease.

If not, maybe we are on the wrong track?
I think the original post was a question regarding posts in the classifieds. A general question to a classified add should be expected but not negative comments. If you don't like the price of an item that's what the "back" button is for.

Now, some folks are just negative and it must make them feel better to post a negative comment (like venting or something). But if something is not on the up and up, like the situation Chew points out, and someone points it out, it is beneficial to the general public. Especially if that poster is not generally a negative person, or is a respected member of this community.
So, my 2 bits is (are?), if everything in the thread is reasonable and you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. But if you see something that is unreasonable, point it out for the benefit of everyone else. A more gentile way of handling this would be to PM the original poster and let him know that you think he is wrong or unreasonable and give him a chance to straighten out his deal before you go public with it.
