It’s a jacked up schedule that some of the majors run to try and I kill employees I think .

Jk. But it does suck. It’s hard to remember. I’m sure someone will post it.

7/7 is better. 14/14 is better than 7/7. Lol

I had me sitting somewhere around $75K just wasn’t sure if I was calculating right because the schedule still confuses me. Haha

If you’re doing what I think you’re doing....stop it lol.

Budget based on your base salary. Anything extra is gravy. Nobody can answer what you’ll make except your normal schedule base pay. OT just shows up. Folks take off. Plant upsets. Turnarounds. Etc. Just roll with it and enjoy the career.

I worked 28/28, 21/21, 14/14 all working out of town offshore and onshore. I can promise I’m going to enjoy working this DuPont schedule coming home to my son every night. [emoji1360]

          Reg Time Hr/Rate: $29.30
          OT Hr/Rate: $43.95

          Working a DuPont schedule.
At the end of the year get a 4% annual bonus.

We work 12/hr shifts and get paid anything over 8 hours is OT.

So 8 hours straight, 4 OT = 12hr per day.

Will you be getting paid the $29.30, or a factor of that rate. At my plant the on shift guys get the factored rate of pay.

You are correct on the schedule. I worked it for the last 25 years of my career, I didn’t like it but it wasn’t my company.

I’ll be getting $29.30 per every 8 hours of the day.
Anything over 8 hours is OT.
Working nights I will be making $30.30

The factored stuff and 1.7x and all that is crazy confusing. Why do they do so many different pay rates? I’ve been in operations 8 years. I’ve had night differential and 2.5x holiday etc. but never any of these crazy rates. Lol.

Good advice here on learning to live on your base salary. In my time in the plants I have seen many folks get use to living on the overtime and when it disappeared at times these people were stressed out big time.

Get with your steward when you get there and he will explain everything to you. Also, I work the Dupont schedule and we get 84 hours each week. 12 hour shifts.

Like a couple others mentioned, your base pay will be right about $75k without your bonus. Your gross pay on each check should be about $2870. You will have 84 hours on each check with no extra days worked outside of your schedule.

I will. Thanks work neighbor haha
How much unscheduled OT do you think you average per year just a guess?

First 40 are regular time for us, 40.01 to 50 are overtime, 50.01-112 are doubletime, plus shift diff, meals on ot & dt, and hog lawed for 9 hours after 16. Shift work sucks, but I can save vacation planning it for turnarounds between shift changes. Congrats OP, sounds like a solid gig to start out with!

I signup for overtime. Sometimes it is scheduled and sometimes they call if someone takes off. Unscheduled 200-300 hours.
Scheduled.... about the same. I am also on a lot of committees. So, I come in on my off days to attend meetings for various committees. That is also overtime. I average 5-600 hours of overtime. That is mostly my choice. I shut it down come October.

i Work a DuPont shift. In my stage of life working 36hrs one week and 48 the other is fine. While the money is great I choose not to work anymore than what my regular schedule says. When not scheduled my company pays 1.5x for regular days 2x on Sunday and 3x on holidays and there is no limits on how much extra you can work. There are s few that must not know who there family are and they work nearly every day. I worked alot when younger but now days time off is more important than money.

I've worked that schedule for 13 years next month. The nice thing about it is I have plenty time to fish and hunt during the week when most people are at work and the bay is not congested. The bad part is I have to work weekend, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries...you get the idea.
